Malu Boruchowicz was born in Buenos Aires in 1994.
She graduated from Universidad del Cine (FUC) with a degree in Cinematography. She works as a director, cinematographer, and photographer.
In 2017, she was awarded a scholarship to study at La Fémis, the film school in Paris.
She has directed music videos, fashion films, and commercials.
Her main artistic pursuit is to give material form to narrative.
In 2022, she wrote and directed her short film Instrucciones para un saludo, which premiered at the 24th BAFICI within the Official Competition.
In 2023, she won the Círculo de Creativos Gold Tooth Award as New Talent. She also received the Silver and Bronze Tooth awards for the commercial Búsquedas por Amor for Alma Mora, and Best Music Video Direction for Te encontré by Julieta Venegas, alongside Lola and Anita Piñero.
In 2024, she was selected for Berlinale Talents and the Di Tella Film Program.
